Practise and rehearsal is you go into a room with a bag of mistakes. You put it all in the music and when you run out of mistakes you get out and look for your gigs.

Rsmittee. Just do your rudiments but forget the rudiments just do them and thnk of the music, any music, whatever is in your head and see what fits.

I have done every exercise there is to strengthen my left hand. I used to have a hard time wrapping my fingers around the stick, now I grip it too tight. I just can’t get it right. You look as though you’re barely holding it, yet have so much control.

Great one! How do you avoid starting to pinch more between index/thumb when playing faster? I’m not able to maintain the contact between the back fingers and the stick when trying to play 32ond note doubles above 90 bpm.

I skipped Ted Reeds syncopation so I may check your book out. When I really want us to work less and have blazing fast hands. I’ve been on and off the pad for 30 years and after a few days and many hours of practice I start to get warmed up. I’m just working too hard and not getting enough speed.

When practicing SLOW how do you practice 2 different things at once? Example: L hand pivot- catch R hand: raise fluidity from the elbow. But I can only thing about 1 thing at a time 😮
